Hydro-Jetter Spartan model 798: This machine allows us to use water pressure up to 4,000 psi to break up clogs and clean your drain pipes using various heads for grease, sand, dirt, paper, roots or sludge build-up.

Cables Spartan model 1065: This machine allows us to cut through and clear main lines where it is not practical to use the Hydro-Jetter. Spartan model 100: This machine works on smaller drains such as branch lines or floor drains. Spartan model 81: This machine is used to clear individual fixture drains such as sink and hub drains.

Inspection camera Spartan camera and locator is used to inspect or pinpoint problems within the drain system.

Backflow Prevention

Are you worried about backflow? If so, Air Works is board-certified by the ASSE in backflow prevention. Not sure what backflow is, or why it is important to protect against it?

Backflow prevention protects water supplies from contamination. When a contaminated liquid's flow reverses, it can mix with a drinking water supply and cause what is known as "backflow."

Backflow can occur in or between the public water system and a juncture within a consumer's plumbing system, which is referred to as a "cross-connection."

Two types of backflow are as follows:

• Backpressure, resulting from positive pressures
• Back siphoning, resulting from negative pressures

Backflow can release pollutants, pesticides and other harmful agents into drinking water. Contaminants originate from everyday sources such as local dining establishments, grocery stores, photo development labs, funeral homes, garden hoses, sprinkler systems, hospitals or schools.

While some backflow cases affecting the drinking water supply may feature telltale signs such as displeasing odors or discoloration, other hazardous contaminants are undetectable by sight or smell. Possible harmful effects of backflow range from gastroenteritis to organ damage or even death.

In light of the events on 9/11 and in support of the U.S. Clean Water Act, there has been a concerted effort among federal, state and local agencies as well as individuals to secure the water supply with cross-connection control and backflow prevention measures.
